A New Year brings new changes
It is hard to believe that the Connection is starting its fifth year in publication. In some ways it seems that it was only yesterday that we decided to take the plunge and commit ourselves to informing the public of what is going on around the area and, as we like to say, keep people connected.
With each new year comes changes and here at the Connection, it is no different. What is our big change for the New Year? Well, it is actually an addition. My wife, Mandy, and I are expecting our first child in late March, which will change the dynamics at work and home. Mandy is the General Manager for Browser Publishing LLC (my boss, at work and at home - whew!), so things will be a little different around here for a time. While excited at the new challenges that lay ahead, I am still apprehensive at what obstacles will be thrown our way, but I know that God has a plan and will take care of us.
So what else will change at the Connection? Not much! We will continue to bring you the community news and information that you have enjoyed for the past four years. What you will see are some new faces as we strive to add some much needed help in the editorial and sales department. We have always prided ourselves at bringing you the most comprehensive community information for White House and the surrounding areas and will continue to do so.
People often ask us why we do what we do with little sleep and no social life to speak of. It’s not for the money-believe me. This is where both my wife and I grew up and although we spent much of our youth vowing to leave and never come back, we both believe that this community is part of us and we couldn’t stand to part with it.
When friends and acquaintances approach us and thank us for what the Connection has done for the community, I always remind them that if it were not for our advertisers, it would not exist. Please tell them that you appreciate their efforts and support. Over the past years, our little paper has grown and it is in thanks to our advertisers and to our readers. We look forward to the years ahead where we can bring even more information to our readers.
For now, I look forward to the birth of our son and all that the future holds. Thank you for your support for the past four years and please keep letting us know what is going on around town and we will keep you connected.
