From a Daughter's Heart
Dear Editor,
This letter is from a daughter’s heart. I would like to personally thank my mother, Sherry Eden, for her years of dedication and service to our community library. I have had the privilege to see the pride and love she has felt for this library and seen the countless volunteer hours she has spent there. Every fall, I watch the gleam in her eyes as she begins to plan to decorate the library Christmas tree. She investigates what is popular with the children every year and then creates a masterpiece of wonder for all the children to enjoy. She has never done any of this for her own reward but solely for the children and people of this community and her love of White House. Both of my parents taught my brother and I to serve and give back to our community, to keep God at the center of everything and to “keep right on your side.” As a daughter and lifelong member of this community, I am saddened at what our library has now lost and what I see happening in my precious hometown community. It will never be the same for me. Mom, I am proud of you and I love you.
