Bell has been designing floral arrangements for twenty-two years including thirteen as owner of Flowers by Judy, a previous business in White House that Bell opted to sell in 2000 in order to take care of health issues. Last month, she opened a new shop in a new location, 141C Eden Way, just down from Sunrise Bakery.

Her presence has already brightened the lives of surrounding businesses and their patrons with greenery, plants and floral displays embellishing the shared hall way. “She's an expert. I love the arrangements, and she is very affordable,” gushed one customer last Thursday.

Inside the well-stocked shop, customers can find a large selection of memorial and cemetery pieces, everyday arrangements, swags, all seasons of grapevine wreaths, plants, planters, hanging baskets, and silk and fresh flower arrangements. Additionally, Flowers by Judy offers gift items such as plush toys, wind chimes, beaded handbags and keepsakes as well as mylar and latex balloons.

Whether a customer knows exactly what he or she wants or whether he or she has only a vague idea of what will fit the bill, Bell's long-time experience, extensive knowledge and creative flair ensure the best possible result. “Because I've been in the business so long, people that don't really know what they want, I can assist them and show them what would work best for their needs,” she explained. “And for the people that know what they want, I'm good at listening, taking notes and then applying it to the arrangement.”

With today's technology and modern transportation methods, nearly every flower is available in every season. “They ship flowers in from California and South America, so you can have almost anything,” Bell noted.
