White House Hobbies
By Stacy Saunders
With planes, cars, boats, helicopters, rockets, trains and more combined with parts and supplies to customize them all and a top notch track to race them on, White House Hobbies offers RC enthusiasts a place like no other to shop and play in the area.

After a quick glance around White House Hobbies, anyone can see it is a different kind of store with a focus on serious fun and a slight emphasis on friendly competition. Vehicles of all kinds and of several scales are available, some “ready to run” and others requiring some assembly. Once the perfect selection is made, an abundance of customization tools and products are on hand to make it a one-of-a-kind wonder. “If you can think of it, you can find it,” store manager Brett Premer noted.

The business opened its doors in White House in November of 2006 and is the realization of a long-time family dream for Brett and his father, owner Carlton Premer. Less than two years later, the store is the premiere place for RC hobbyists and racers. An off road track is available for use on site for a small fee, but the main action can be found on Saturdays when racers engage in friendly competition to land the top spot in points and take home the prize. “Literally, they’ll run fifty or sixty miles per hour,” Brett explained, “and they’re several feet off the ground.” Five classes are available, enabling racers to choose from a variety of vehicles to run. Round track racing on Sundays is on the horizon for this popular weekend stop.

White House Hobbies can “get just about anything you can think of” for its customers, and the people there focus on each person that steps into the shop. Brett offers expert advice, trouble shooting, parts recommendations and repairs. There is also an RC flight simulator available free of charge for customers who want to develop their flight skills.

For those who prefer to shop online, White House Hobbies provides a fully interactive website complete with shopping, product information and a store directory at www.whitehousehobbies.com. At the site, visitors can go beyond shopping and participate in forums and chats, check up on race results and points standings, link to manufacturers and more.
