Blair Announcing Candidacy?
Dear Editor:
When I read the paper I was shocked to read that Jerry Blair’s comments in announcing his candidacy for 12th District Constable. The constable is a highly regarded and valuable position because you are elected by your local voters. Mr. Blair seems to have no regard for the office he is seeking for the third time. Tell me why you would seek and hold an office that you feel is obsolete? He also seems to be judging all candidates by his personal opinion. If he feels that it is no longer useful then why doesn’t he remove himself from the running and allow another eligible, qualified candidate who believes in this position to serve this district?

My question is what has he done for us the voters in the 12th District?

Thank You, Julie Rhoten

Sumner County voters challenged
Dear Editor:
I was recently in White House and read the Browser.  As a citizen of Sumner County, I have to say I was very confused by Gerald Blair’s announcement of his candidacy for the office of Constable in the 12th District.  My confusion lies with his circular logic as to why he is running for an office he feels is useless, outdated, and ripe for corruption.

From a Daughter's Heart
Dear Editor,
This letter is from a daughter’s heart. I would like to personally thank my mother, Sherry Eden, for her years of dedication and service to our community library. I have had the privilege to see the pride and love she has felt for this library and seen the countless volunteer hours she has spent there. Every fall, I watch the gleam in her eyes as she begins to plan to decorate the library Christmas tree. She investigates what is popular with the children every year and then creates a masterpiece of wonder for all the children to enjoy. She has never done any of this for her own reward but solely for the children and people of this community and her love of White House. Both of my parents taught my brother and I to serve and give back to our community, to keep God at the center of everything and to “keep right on your side.” As a daughter and lifelong member of this community, I am saddened at what our library has now lost and what I see happening in my precious hometown community. It will never be the same for me. Mom, I am proud of you and I love you.

Kim Reid
