Sports Coverage Appreciated
Thank you for your coverage of both schools this year and years past, I look forward each Tuesday to your coverage. Your recent article gave credit for a goal to my daughter Hannah Bailey against Montgomery Central that should have been credited to Megan McDonald. Heritage got fouled about 25 to 30 yards out and Hannah put a ball to the far post that Megan McDonald followed up on.
It has been amazing watching these seniors over that last five years and what they have done against these much larger schools. Four of these girls had to play and start as 8th graders or else we couldn’t have fielded a team.
I want to personally thank Coach Carrie and Coach Kelly for your dedication to our young ladies, you two were and are awesome. Also, to the girls of White House Lady Devils, you are truly an amazing team and one of the best that I have seen in my five years of living in Tennessee. You are well coached and will go far for many years.
Thanks,
Ron Bailey
I took a life!
One dark night heading home a large object ran out into the road in front of me. The impact caused severe damage for the both of us. I took the animal’s life and it caused - $4,500+ damage to my car not to mention my emotions. The insurance company wanted to total my car even though it was only two years old and paid for.
I thought a deer had run and jumped into me but no it was a large dog without a collar or tag. It was so dark and late at night without other traffic lights that I didn’t see it coming in time to stop or swerve. My car stopped about 200 feet later unable to move.
Folks there are many reasons for LEASH LAWS. This is just one. Someone has mourned the loss of a friend as I have mourned the taking of a life.
Yes, I and my insurance were out thousands because of someone’s choice to not put their pet on a leash, but how many more lives have to be taken before people understand this is a law and it is there for protection of the animals as well as humans.
Don’t be mad at your friends/neighbors/associates/county officials if they want you to follow the leash law. Consider the possibility that they might be thinking of your pets. Try looking at things in a different light.
