Livingston Academy handily defeated White House 70-52 Thursday night in the region 4 AA tournament championship game. The Wildcats shot a blistering percentage in the first half to take a 37-26 lead at halftime. White House never could mount much of a charge in the second half to get close as Livingston Academy continually made the extra pass to get good shots. White House will now have to travel to play Howard high school Monday night in Chattanooga in the sectional game. This will be the blue devils third year in a row to make the sectional and all three years they have had to go on the road. Rogers Gaines led White House with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Chad Neal added 9 and Rob Poindexter and Garrett Wood scored 8. Zach Trobaugh tied a career high with 8 assists. “It’s gonna be difficult to win Monday but we know that we can. We proved it last year. We will go their Monday night with the intentions of winning and hopefully we will,” said senior Garrett Wood. White House dropped to 21-7 on the year. |
